This photography exhibit, created by E.J Manton, illustrates the diverse background and unique characteristics of each person she has photographed. The exhibit puts a human face on the homeless discussion and assists us in understanding the importance of addressing their plight. The visual imagery here is the best accompaniment to our spoken word, as it truly illustrates the measure of our challenge.
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to view the work of Ms. Manton in conjunction with the community events featuring Dr. Robert Marbut, renowned authority on homelessness. During these events, Dr. Marbut shares the results of his extensive study of best practices and suggests solutions to address homelessness and its related issues.
In the Bay County area, the possibility of various services for thsoe who are homeless, those who are unemployed, and all those who have been disenfranchised in our community., has been discussed for some time, but no permanent, comprehensive solution has ever been attained. For a little more than a year, a small nucleus of citizen leaders has been working thorough out the community at large on an idea that will provide some of the solutions. A Community Resource Center, constructed on its own site, is now moving towards reality.
